A Quick Tour of Oslo

A friend recommended this great little overnight cruise from Copenhagen to Oslo.  It was well worth it!  You can get on the boat in either Oslo or Copenhagen, spend a nice night cruising to the other city and then get off for the day to sightsee and spend the next night cruising back to your starting point.

Oslo is a cute and very old town (founded around 1000 AD) and although it was rainy when we first came in, the day eventually cleared up and we did get some sunny weather to tour the city a bit.

We did a cool Hop On Hop Off Bus that took us to a lot of the highlights of Oslo and kept us dry for the tour.  The bus came by each stop every 30 minutes which was great, and you got a headset to plug in so you could hear history and information at the designated stops.  They even had WiFi on the bus which was cool and more than I can say for the cruise ship (be prepared to go dark when you are on board).

Jimmy was fascinated by the ships and the Vikings so some quick museum stops were squeezed into our short day of sightseeing.

Unfortunately, I don’t have too many pics to share as I accidentally left my camera in the bathroom on the cruise ship and when I went back to get it, it was gone.  I am hoping to hear back from lost and found at the cruise line, but at least I downloaded all my other pictures prior to this.  If any of you see random pictures of us posted on the internet let us know.  Oh well, this is a hazard of travel and absentmindedness.

  1. Sorry to learn about the camera. It seems camera issues on vacation run in the family 🙂
Hope you get to see more cool stuff. Be safe.
