Thank You Denmark!

Well, it’s been about 2 weeks since we got back from our awesome trip to Denmark (which also included brief sojourns to Norway and Sweden).  Time zone recovery has been slow, but Jimmy and I are still talking about the great time we had.

I’m not sure if you can thank a whole country since I’m pretty sure not everyone in Denmark is reading my blog.  I do know who we really want to send a big thank you to is our friends and hosts Jorgen and Jep (and Mumsy).  What a great time they showed us and their hospitality is truly unmatched.  They gave us a great look at historic Denmark as well as showing us unique places they love around their city and country in general.  We had so much fun and can’t wait to see them again soon.

Sum Up:  Some of the things we loved about Denmark:

Open-faced Sandwiches (Smorrebrod)

Bikes, Bikes and more Bikes

Exercise and transportation!

Smart Parking Spaces – Green light on the column signifies an open space down the row – you can know where to park without driving down each row.  How cool is that!?!?

Towel Tags – Not sure why I’m fascinated, but I think it is an awesome idea.

Danish (the food, not the people)

Mmmmm . . . cinnamon!

Carrot Cake – I don’t think they are specifically known for it, but this one was awesome!

As an added bonus, we got to see first hand Jorgen’s really cool assemblage of vintage collectibles.  Click here to check out Gallery 61.  Jorgen’s unique sense of style has led to an awesome collection of functional, decorative items that are a great combination of the “weird, wonderful and classic” and can complement any style.  Trust me it is well worth a look – sneak peak below of some of the treasures you might find in his gallery!

So, final sum up, if you are thinking of going to Denmark – don’t give it a second thought . . . GO!
